Elementary, middle, and high school students participate in weekly Oracy groups led by speech/language pathologists to maximize and refine their auditory and oral language skills. Students are encouraged to practice their speaking and listening skills in a relaxed, natural environment. Conversational skills and dialogue are used in a variety of age-appropriate activities such as dramatic play, sing-alongs, group discussions, and more!
These activities are conducted in Spoken English only. Because they require high levels of auditory perception, participation in Oracy Groups at the middle and high school level is voluntary.
Oracy groups have been well attended. The students that participate in Oracy report that they enjoy the experience and the speech language pathologists do too!
