Welcome to the Academic Department. The Mississippi School for the Deaf offers a complete academic program for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students from preschool through high school graduation. Students enroll in the school as young as three years old and continue to graduation.
The school is committed to the academic development of each of our students. Through the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) process, teachers and support staff strive to develop and implement a program designed to promote and develop each child's educational needs. MSD endorses a bilingual environment throughout the school. American Sign Language (ASL) is the language of instruction with English strongly emphasized across the curriculum.
Please contact Dr. Bradley Porche, at firstname.lastname@example.org or (VP) at 601-351-9101 for additional questions about the academic program.
