Academic Bowl

The Academic Bowl team and coaches will travel to North Carolina School for the Deaf in Morganton, NC to compete in the Gallaudet Southeast Regional Academic Bowl Meet from February 9th-11th.  MSD has competed in the Academic Competition for 20 years. 

The Academic Bowl team for the 2016-2017 school year:  Shakeedra Hubbard (Senior), Adrianna Chain (Junior), KeyShawn Moore (Junior) and Robert Sain (Sophomore).  This team is coached by Ms. Kitty Love and Mrs. Gale Hartling.

The Academic Bowl for Deaf and Hard of Hearing High School students was established with the goal of fostering the pursuit of academic excellence, promoting a spirit of academic competition and sportsmanship, and providing social opportunities for the development of collegiality and lifelong friendships. 

Every year, Gallaudet University hosts four Regional competitions for up to 80 teams of Deaf and Hard of Hearing high school students.  Teams placing first through fourth will then advance to the National competition held at Gallaudet every year. Third place teams in the regional pools will compete for wild card positions to join in the national competition.
